Usage & Utility
temporarily disconnect the engine from the transmission, allowing the rider to stop the bike, change gears, or remain stationary without stalling the engine. When the clutch lever is pulled in, it releases the pressure on the clutch plates, separating them and breaking the power flow from the engine to the rear wheel. When the lever is released, the pressure plate squeezes the plates together, engaging the clutch and transmitting power to the wheels.
